face

kernel summit and desktopcon and even OLS..

Okay I'm unhappy and no-one is responding to email so I'm going to give out here :-)

I got an invite to KS05 and asked for travel assistance as my main employer is me, and I work for a single company on contract who use Linux but don't want to send an non-employee away, paying for it myself isn't something I really want to have to do....

Now I've gotten no response from the KS organisers about whether the assistance is going ahead or not, the summit is less than 4 weeks away, the flights are getting more expensive by the day, so if they decide to not give me travel assistance I'm going to be shelling out waay more than if I had bought the flights myself 2-3 months ago...

At least the desktopcon people accepted my presentation, and I really do want to meet up with all the people and try and sort these graphics/kernel issues out for once and for all..

(btw maybe I can share someones room costs with them if it comes down to it.. must buy an Ottawa book...)

ah well I'll see what transpires.. I'm going to have to book flights in the next week or so, the availability on routes from Australia to the US is usually very crappy... and I don't think I want to pay for business class or a 6 hop ticket...
